Residential Roofing

Roofing is an essential part of the home. It keeps you and your family dry and warm, so it’s no wonder that people get worried when their roof needs to be repaired or replaced. A new roof can help protect your home against leaks and dampness, which can reduce water damage in other parts of the house.

Residential Roofing

What is residential roofing?

Residential roofing is a term used to describe the covering of a home’s roof. We offer many different types of residential roofing services, including flat roofs, roof conversions and extensions, replacement roofs or re-roofs, chimney repairs, and more.

Types of residential roofing services

Flat roofs

Flat roofs are one of the most common types of residential roofs. They are a popular choice as they can be easily installed and protected from the elements.

Roof conversions

This type of residential roofing is when an existing flat roof is converted into another style, for example, to make it pitched or sloping.

Flat extensions

A flat extension occurs when you add extra space to your property with a new floor with its roof over the top.

New roofs

New roofs involve constructing a new covering for the house, which could be either flat, gabled (pitched), mansard (sloped), or hipped (pyramid-shaped).

Re-roofs

Re-roofs is when the existing roof is completely removed and replaced with a new one.

Roof maintenance

If you have an existing roof that isn’t leaking but is showing its age with fading paintwork and worn out sealant, it could be time to consider residential roof maintenance.

Roof Repairs

A roof can require repairs for a large number of different reasons, including leaks or if the shingles are damaged.

Roof Replacement

When your original flat/pitched roof has deteriorated beyond repair, then it may require total replacement by new materials, which will give your house a fresh look again.

Leadwork

Lead roofs tend to last indefinitely; however, they can sometimes suffer from damage caused by heavy rainfall, so that repairs may need to be carried out, or in some cases, complete re-roofs are required where the lead itself needs replacing entirely due to wear and tear.

Fascias and soffits

These are the areas of the roof that sit around the perimeter where it meets your exterior walls. They often become dirty from dirt being blown up from ground level and general weathering, giving them a grimy look, which is why they need maintenance to extend their lifespan. There can be many tiny nooks and crannies on fascias, especially if you have loose brickwork or delicate stonework, which makes cleaning with a pressure washer difficult. Still, thankfully there are now specialist chemicals available for this job over traditional household bleach products used in the past.

Installation and repairs of guttering

Gutters are another essential aspect of your roof. They need to be installed correctly; otherwise, the water will not flow away from your property well-meaning you could get leakage into your home.

Chimney Repairs

Over time, chimneys can become blocked, which reduces airflow through them, resulting in a higher risk of fire, so these must be checked regularly by either an installation contractor or sometimes even just regular maintenance checks carried out by owners themselves, especially if you have children around who might attempt lighting fires unsupervised.
