Loft Conversion

What is a loft conversion?

A loft conversion is a process of converting the loft space in a home into living accommodation. We can do it by removing an existing ceiling and making permanent structural changes to the roof, or it may simply involve creating new openings for windows or skylights that would not usually exist.

Benefits of loft conversion

• Extra Living Space – By turning your loft into extra living space, you are increasing your property’s value without actually having to move anywhere! We will advise on how much work needs doing and what is involved in giving you accurate pricing information.

• New Home Office – If you’ve already got enough room but need some more storage, then lofts make fantastic office spaces as they’re naturally lit, and there are no distractions. We can carry out loft conversions to transform your attic into a fantastic new office space for you!

Types of loft conversion

There are various ways to turn your attic into an additional bedroom or storage space. We offer the following types:

Roof window conversion

Roof windows are one of the most popular types of loft conversions as they’re quick and easy to install. We can advise on what you need and how we go about it so that your new roof window is perfect for you!

Dormer conversion

Dormers are a great way to add space to your house – We will supply bespoke dormer windows and roofs that fit perfectly into your existing property’s style. We’ll also ensure our work meets all building regulations, including planning permission if needed (it often is!)

Mansard conversion

We will supply and install your new mansard roof, meeting all of the required building regulations for this loft conversion.

Hip-to-Gable conversion

We are experts in all types of hip-to-gable conversions – our team have many years of experience working with this kind of loft conversion, so you can be sure that they know what’s suitable for your home.

Velux conversion

Gambrel conversion

We provide a range of high-quality services covering both traditional roofs and modern options like gambrels. Our expert team works closely on projects across Scunthorpe and beyond, no matter how small or large!

Hipped Roof Conversion

Our expert team have years of experience working with a range of hipped roof conversions, so you can be sure that they know what is suitable for your home.

Staircase Conversion

We offer two different types of staircase conversions, so if you already have an existing room but want the benefit of having stairs, then we will be able to help.

First, we would create a standard straight flight with sloping sides and meet at 90 degrees in the middle – this is great for lofts that don’t get very high ceilings as it creates more headroom when entering the ladder section (if not converted with a hatch). If, however, your ceiling height allows us, then we’d build one long winding curve that goes around three walls.

Loft Conversion Refurbishment

You might also want to restore the character of your house and add some charm. We can do this by adding dormers. They break up a flat roofline with multiple angles, creating more interest in your home’s facade, which makes it stand out from its neighbours.

Loft Conversions for Kitchens and Rooms

Sometimes people want to use the space as a kitchen and make their loft feel like part of the house. We can do this by creating a fitted benchtop with cupboards below. This allows for storage under-bench and provides you with somewhere to prepare food making your home more functional.

Loft conversion process

Our loft conversion process starts with an initial survey to assess the feasibility of your loft conversion. If it is suitable for installing a room, we will discuss what you are looking for concerning design and functionality before setting out our recommended plan.
